Teresa Martone|Former Waterbury resident

LAKE LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Teresa (Richards) Martone, age 82, of Lake Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Waterbury, Conn., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas. She was the devoted wife of the late Bruce B. Martone, also formerly of Waterbury, whom she married in 1951. Teresa was born on Feb. 4, 1930, in Waterbury, Conn., and was the youngest daughter of the late Louis and Maria Richards. She graduated from Wilby High School in Waterbury. Teresa moved to Hopkinsville, Ky., with her husband, in 1978. Following his death in 1979, she moved to Southern California with her daughter. Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was the executive assistant to the president of Gulton Industries in Costa Mesa, Calif. Teresa is survived by her daughter, Dana Martone Wong and her husband, William, of Lake Las Vegas, Nev.; her son, Scott Martone and his wife, Nancy, of Sacramento, Calif.; her brother, Louis Richards of Waterbury; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Domenic Richards, and her three sisters, Mary Lionello, Julia Nole and Rose Rinaldi. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main St., Waterbury, Conn. Maiorano Funeral Home in Waterbury, Conn., and Palm Mortuary in Henderson, Nev., have been entrusted with all arrangements. Memorial contributions in Teresa's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
