C. I. 'Hop' Gangloff,

SARASOTA, Fla. — Hop Gangloff, 78, of Sarasota, Fla., died unexpectedly at his home on Halloween. Hop was born in Waterbury and retired from the State of Connecticut Dept. of Environmental Protection in 1996. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife. Hop is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara (nee Banks) Gangloff; two daughters, Debra Gangloff (John Hofacker) of Sarasota, and Ellen Gangloff of Thomaston, Conn.; two brothers, Edwin (Shirley) Gangloff of Terryville, Conn., and William (Joan) Gangloff of Harwinton, Conn.; a sister, Kathleen (Ron) Colasanto of Palm City, Fla.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be officiated by Chaplin John Gerhardt at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park, Sarasota, Fla.
