Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan and assistant general manager Scott Perry met with All-Star center Dwight Howard and members of Howard's inner circle in California on Wednesday, and during that meeting, Howard reiterated his trade request and said he will not sign another contract with the Magic, according to a source familiar with the discussion. Hennigan did not return messages from the Orlando Sentinel. According to the source, Hennigan and Perry did not try to convince Howard to drop his trade request. Instead, Hennigan and Perry expressed a desire to get to know Howard and build trust. Howard responded by saying that he has no interest in that and has no desire to begin the season in Orlando. He also expressed frustration that he has not been traded already. Hennigan has said for weeks that he's in no rush to trade Howard and that he will only make a trade if he receives a good offer. Hennigan has not ruled out the possibility of Howard beginning training camp and the regular season with Howard on the team's roster. --- ©2012 The Orlando Sentinel (Orlando, Fla.)
